UK Dredging require a Mate for their vessel UKD Sealion (224 GT).

Minimum requirements are STCW '95 OOW Certification or alternatively RYA Yacht Master Offshore certification with commercial endorsement or other suitable deck qualification with relevant practical experience will be considered. Proven ship handling ability, experience of deck duties including mooring and lifting operations and must be computer literate

Main Duties:

1. Ship handling and all navigational watch keeping duties including pilotage where appropriate.

2. General deck and engine room duties including mooring, cleaning and general maintenance ensuring that planned deck maintenance schedules are maintained and adhered to

3. Maintenance of Navigation Charts and publications ensuring that they are maintained up to date and that chart corrections are undertaken accurately and records maintained.

4. Competent in the use of dredge guidance system.

5. Understudy to the Ship's Master in all his duties and be ready to act in such capacity when required.

6. Supervise and direct deck operations.

7. Driving the Hyab during buoy handling and lifting operations.

8. Support the shipboard Safety Management System.

Work Pattern:

12 hours per day, either as a single shift, 6hours on duty/6 hours off duty or tidal watches as directed by the Master.

14 days on duty, 14 days off duty.
