UK DREDGING LANDS NEW IRISH AGREEMENT
UK Dredging (UKD), a division of Associated British Ports, recently signed a three-year maintenance-dredging contract with the Port of Waterford in Ireland to maintain its harbour’s waterways.
The agreement will see UKD Bluefin, a trailing-suction vessel, dredging the shipping channels between Duncannon Bar and the freight terminal at Belview.
Jeff Neale, UKD General Manager, commented on the new contract:
“UKD Bluefin is a modern and highly efficient suction dredger, ideally suited to the port’s requirements. UKD is very pleased to have won this contract and is very proud to be working with the Port of Waterford. We trust that this agreement signals the beginning of a fruitful working relationship.” UKD, which is based in Cardiff, has won a number of third-party contracts this year. In addition to fulfilling ABP’s dredging requirements, UKD was awarded a three-year maintenance contract with the Port of Bristol, and her vessels have been dredging as far afield as the Portuguese ports of Setubal and Leixoes
